About the Poison Center

The North Dakota Department of Health is responsible for ensuring that emergency poison management services and poison prevention information are available to residents across the state.

Emergency poison management services are provided by the Minnesota Regional Poison Center, located at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis. This service is accessible through the national Poison Help number, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The Minnesota Regional Poison Center is certified as a Regional Poison Center by America’s Poison Centers (APC).

Poison prevention activities are coordinated by the North Dakota Department of Health’s Injury Prevention Program.
